Divulapitiya OIC arrested following death at Negombo prison

The Police spokesperson has reported that the Officer in Charge of the Crimes Division at the Divulapitiya Police station has been arrested following the death of a suspect who was detained at the Negombo prison. 

It was reported that the OIC of the Divulapitiya Crimes Division and two other Police officers were transferred following events that transpired a short while ago. 

Accordingly authorities made the arrest with probable cause in connection to the death of the prisoner.
