One person shot dead in Jaffna

A 24-year-old youth has succumbed due injuries following a shooting which took place in Ariyale-Jaffna.

Two individuals on a motorcycle who were wearing face masks have shot the victim who was also travelling in a motor bike yesterday afternoon (22).

The youth succumbed due to injuries today (23) after being admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital.

The deceased has been identified as a resident of Ariyale-Udayapuram.

No suspect has been arrested in link with the incident so far.

Investigations into the incident are being carried out by Jaffna Police.
