SC to hear petition against Shanil Nettikumara’s arrest

The fundamental rights petition filed by businessman Shanil Nettikumara seeking a court order preventing his arrest, will be taken up for consideration on November 28.

The petitioner had informed the Supreme Court that there is an attempt to arrest him for allegedly threatening Anika Wijeysuriya for testifying against former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing the treasury bond scam.

Accordingly, the three-member judge bench ordered the petition to be taken up for consideration on the November 28, Ada Derana court reporter stated.
