Anurudda Polgampola appointed as new Chairman of State Timber Corporation

Anurudda Polgampola has been appointed as the new Chairman of State Timber Corporation, President’s Media Division (PMD) reported.

He received his letter of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Official Residence, yesterday (04).

On Thursday (3), President Maithripala Sirisena ordered the immediate suspension of the Chairman of the State Timber Corporation (STC), who along with President’s Chief of Staff Dr I.H.K. Mahanama faces bribery allegations.

They were arrested and remanded in connection with soliciting a bribe of Rs 20 million.
