Sri Lankan passenger held with gold chains at BIA

A Sri Lankan passenger has been arrested by customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake for attempting to smuggle three gold chains into the country. 

The 44 year old resident of Pelawatta, Battaramulla had arrived from Singapore at around midnight yesterday (22).

Three gold chains weighing 240g and worth almost Rs 2.3 million were found in his possession.
