Social media temporarily blocked

Social media platforms including WhatsApp, Viber, and Facebook have been blocked temporarily in the country following the explosions this morning.
WhatsApp, Viber and other social media platforms have been blocked in Sri Lanka.
The government took this step after a series of explosions took place
in several parts of Sri Lanka.
In a bid to curb fake news and rumor-mongering regarding the Sri Lanka blasts, the Sri Lankan government had considered blocking WhatsApp and Viber.
