Son of coronavirus patient has not contracted the virus – Dr Jasinghe

Rumors that the son of the Coronavirus patient at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) has contracted the virus are completely false, according to the Director-General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe.

Department of Government information issuing a press release states that the family members of the coronavirus-infected patient have been completely quarantined.

Further, the rumors that the patient’s son had contracted the virus are completely false, the statement read.

The infected patient is currently receiving treatment at the IDH in Angoda.

The patient has been identified as a tour guide who had traveled around the country with 04 Italian tourists since March 03.

The group had traveled to Sigirya, Polonnaruwa, and Kandy where they had stayed in hotels.

After dropping off the tourists at the Bandaranaike International Aiport (BIA), the 52-year-old tour guide had returned to his home in Mattegoda.
