316 new Covid-19 cases reported

The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) says that another 316 persons have tested positive for novel coronavirus in the country.

All new cases are close contacts of previously identified positive patients from the Peliyagoda cluster. 

A total of 625 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified so far today (11).

This brings the total number of cases reported from the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda Covid-19 cluster to 11,858.

Meanwhile the tally of Covid-19 positive cases detected in Sri Lanka thus far has now increased to 15,350.

10,183 of them have recovered and discharged from hospital while 5,121 are currently being treated at hospitals.
