Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster exceeds 13,000 cases

The Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry has confirmed that 175 new cases of novel coronavirus have been identified today (14), marking another grim milestone in the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster.
All new cases are associates of previously detected patients from the Peliyagoda Fish Market Covid-19 cluster.
This brings the total number of cases from the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda cluster to 13,084
The total number of confirmed cases of the virus reported in the country thus far has thereby increased to 16,580.
11,324 of them have recovered while 5,203 are currently under medical care at hospitals. The death toll in the country from coronavirus stands at 53.
