Plastic waste to petrol conversion project launched

The world’s first pilot project to convert plastic waste into petrol was launched by the Environment Ministry at Yatiyanthota this morning.



IndianProf. Mrs. Alka Umesh Zadgaonkar, Head of Department of Applied Chemistry at the Nagpur based G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering is credited for inventing this catalytic project of converting plastic into petrol. She along with her husband had mastered the technology by 2004 according to media reports.
