Godahewa moves up at SLIC

Current Managing Director of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd., Dr. Nalaka Godahewa is tipped to head the institution vested in the Government by courts last year, as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Adaderana learns.

 

 

Dr. Godahewa has served under many business conglomerates inSri Lankaincluding MAS Holdings where he was the CEO of several overseas operations, Suntel, Unilever Lanka etc.

 

 

He holds a PhD from the Universityof South Australia, as well as a BSc in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the Moratuwa University and an MBA from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura. He is also a Certified Management Accountant (UK), a Certified Management Accountant (AUS) and a Chartered Marketer (UK).

 

 

He has also served as Consultant to the Board of Investment, Chairman – Imperial College of Business Studies while being also a Director of The Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC.

 

 

In June 2009, when SLIC was vested with the Government, Dr. Godahewa was appointed as the Competent Authority to manage the transition from the private sector to the public sector.
