CID takes over probes into assault on former VC of Peradeniya Uni.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has directed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to take over the probes into the assault on Prof. Athula Senaratne by the students of Peradeniya University.
Accordingly, the CID will carry on the investigations from today (Dec. 17), the police spokesman said.
