Mawanella PS chairman arrested for soliciting a bribe

The Bribery Commission has arrested the chairman of Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) chairman, Samantha Steven has been arrested for soliciting a bribe.

The PS chairman was caught red-handed at a hotel while accepting a bribe from a businessman to approve the plan for a building planned to be constructed in Mawanella town.

The suspect is reportedly a member of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
