Over 190 displaced families in North given land deeds and cheques

A total of 197 displaced families in the North were granted deeds of lands and cheques to the value of Rs. 38,000 each today (Feb. 11), the President’s Media Division (PMD) says.

The event was held at the Jaffna District Secretariat under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Accordingly, several individuals, who had been displaced for nearly 33 years, were symbolically handed over land deeds and cheques today.

They have expressed their gratitude to the President for releasing their lands, the PMD said further.
