Three teens arrested for assaulting man to death with helmets

Welipenna Police has arrested three 16-year-old youths for assaulting a man to death with helmets last night (Feb. 14).

The victimized father of one, aged 34, was attacked to death with helmets by a group of youths last night on a road in the Welipenna area, as a result of an escalated argument, the police mentioned.

The deceased, who was named Ranga Viraj has been identified to be a resident of Galmaththa in Welipenna.

Police had arrested a 16-year-old on suspicion of the incident last night, while the others fled the area.

However, the Police Media Spokesman stated that two other suspects were arrested today (Feb. 15) during the police investigations.
