Party probe on self immolation after Ranil returns

A decision on holding an internal party investigation on the self immolation of a party supporter will only be taken after UNP Leader Ranil Wickramsinghe returns to Sri Lanka, said UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake . He made this statement at a media conference held today.

 

 

However, he said the party will not object to the Police carrying on with their investigations regarding this case.

 

 

The man, identified as Rienzi Algama set himself on fire in front of the UNP Headquarters ‘Sirikotha’ on Monday.

 

 

Tissa Attanayake added that nothing should be done to dishonour Algama as he acted out of love for the party and that this is the first time in Sri lanka that a person had resorted to self-immolation in the name of a political party.

Uncle Nephew Party [ UNP ] has been investigating for last 10 years. For God sake there is nothing to investigate here other than kicking out RW , Ravi K and few other crooks from the party & move forward with Sri Lankan pilitical system. At present, this political party cannot get any thing right and its in a such sorry state they have to use ´´ self Immolation´´ as a mechanism to reform the party. However, this party was seeking people´s mandate to change country´s constitution. What a joke? These bunch of jokers should clear their own back yard before consider leading this country. UNP´s thinking is million miles apart with the country´s expections and clearly, its an obstacle to Sri Lanka´s progress.

Algama who did this deplorable act is a classic example of UNP mentality. This man pushed srilankans in par with South Indian mentality. Disgrace! Like Algama acts and actions of UNP is not betterment of country, society or future. Useless bunch.

again and again i WOULD SAY EVEN AFTER THE DEFETE OF G/ELECTION THE UNP WAS VERY WELL UNITED AS A OPPSISION GROUP IT IS RANIL AND THE OTHER FEW MEMBERS TO COVER UP THE LOST BATTLE DIVERTED THE UNPERS BEFORE POINTING THE FINGERS TOWARD THEM CAME WITH THIS REFORM IDEA IN ORDER TO CONTINUE AS LEADERS, THATS THE ONE IGNITED ALL THE DIFFRENCE AMONG THE PARTY MEMBERS IN SINHALA HARA OWELLA MESS AND CONFUSION.
