Railway operations to resume after trade unions call off strike

The train strike launched earlier today (11 Sep.) has been called off following a discussion between the relevant trade unions and authorities.

Earlier today, shunting workers at the Colombo railway yards launched a trade union action, disrupting several train operations.

It was reported that trains scheduled to depart from the relevant railway yards would not operate until the matter was resolved
