Sri Lanka Police have reported that the Hatton – Colombo main road has been completely blocked for traffic in the Diyagala area due to a mound of earth collapsing on to the road.

Accordingly, motorists using the road are advised to use alternative routes to reach their destination owing to this situation.

Motorists plying towards Hatton from Colombo have been requested to travel through the Laxapana – Norton Bridge route, while those travelling from Kandy are requested to use the Nawalapitiya – Dimbula Pathana – Talawakele route.

Meanwhile, a similar incident has also been reported near the 86km post in the Anilkanda area along the Deniyaya – Ratnapura road, bringing traffic to a complete standstill.
