Power back on in more areas including Gampaha, Kiribathgoda - CEB

UPDATE (09:58 PM): Power supply has been restored in several areas, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) reported.

Accordingly, power was restored in Badulla, Matugama, Awissawella, Gampaha, Ratmalana and Kiribathgoda, CEB Media Spokesman Engineer Noel Priyantha said.

The power supply has been restored in several areas in Colombo and the Southern Province, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) stated.

Accordingly, the power supply in and around the Colombo National Hospital, several suburban areas and the Southern Province have been restored, CEB Media Spokesman Engineer Noel Priyantha reported.

He further noted that efforts are afoot to restore power to all other areas as well.

Earlier this evening (09 Dec.), major power outages were reported across the island due to a breakdown in the transmission line from Kotmale to Biyagama.
