Kerala cannabis worth over Rs. 13 mn seized during naval operation in Jaffna

A stock of 34 kilograms of Kerala Cannabis was seized by the Sri Lanka Navy in a recent operation on the Pungudutivu Island in Jaffna.
The stock, valued at an estimate of over Rs. 13 million, was seized during a naval operation carried out on Monday (15 Jan.).
The consignment of Kerala cannabis was found in 16 parcels inside a sack hidden in the shrubs in the beach vicinity, the Navy reported.
Accordingly, the haul of Kerala cannabis will remain in the custody of the Navy until it is handed over to the relevant authorities for onward legal action.
