Two fishing vessels carrying narcotics intercepted off southern coast

Sri Lanka Navy has intercepted two fishing trawlers carrying a cache of narcotics, suspected to be heroin, off the southern coast of the island.

A local multiday fishing trawler and a one-day fishing trawler were impounded during the operation mounted by the naval intelligence unit 

The seized vessels, narcotics consignment and apprehended suspects are being brought ashore to the Galle Harbour for onward investigations.
