AUDIO: 50% UNP veterans will vote for amendment - Earl

Earl Gunasekara speaking exclusively to Ada Derana said that approximately 50% of the United National Party’s front row senior members will stand up and vote in support of the 18th Constitutional Amendment when the it is taken up for vote at Parliament tomorrow.

 

 

The UNP Parliamentarian responsibly stated that 10 members from the UNP have already pledged to support and vote in support of the Constitutional Amendments bill. He also said that when the votes in favor of the amendments, including the UNP votes, are tallied it will exceed 160.

 

 

He also pleaded the leaders of the United National Party to thoroughly reconsider their decision without dividing and breaking the party apart.
