Election Commission notified of parliamentary vacancy following MP’s resignation

The Secretary General of the Parliament, Kushani Rohanadeera has informed the Chairman of the Election Commission of Sri Lanka, in writing, of the parliamentary vacancy created following the resignation of Uddika Premarathne, representing the Anuradhapura Constituency.

Premarathne of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) handed over his letter of resignation on 27 February to the Deputy General Secretary of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne.

Meanwhile, S. C. Mutukumarana is tipped to fill the relevant parliamentary vacancy
