Two killed, 3 injured in Ambalangoda shooting

Two persons have been killed while another three individuals have been injured in a shooting incident at Galagoda in Ambalangoda.

Police said two gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle had opened fire at them inside a shop at Galagoda using a T56 assault rifle before fleeing the scene.

The three wounded persons have been admitted to Balapitiya Hospital with gunshot injuries. 

Ambalangoda Police are conducting further investigations into the incident. 

This is the second shooting reported within just a few hours today.

A short while ago, it was reported that one person has been killed and three others were injured following a shooting incident at Pitigala in Elpitiya this evening.

Incidentally that shooting was also reportedly carried out by two gunmen on a motorcycle using a T56 firearm.
