MPs Shanakiyan, Hesha and Gamini also resign from COPE

UPDATE: SLPP MP Gamini Waleboda has also resigned from the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).

Accordingly, seven members have thus far resigned from the parliamentary committee within the last two days. 


TNA parliamentarian Shanakiyan Rasamanickam and SJB MP Hesha Withanage have also resigned from the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).

This brings the total number of opposition members who have quit the parliamentary committee thus far to six. 

SJB parliamentarian Eran Wickramaratne resigned from COPE yesterday while MPs Dayasiri Jayaseka, S.M. Marikkar and former COPE chairman Prof. Charitha Herath announced their decision to resign earlier today.
