Student dies after concrete object falls on him in school premises

A school student, who was seriously injured after a concrete object in the school premises fell on him, has succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the hospital.

The deceased, a 11-year-old student identified as S. Anishan, is a resident of Gartmore Estate in Maskeliya. 

The student has faced this accident while visiting the lavatory facilities, at around 1.30 p.m. today (04).

Later, the school teachers along with residents in the area have rushed the injured student to the Maskeliya Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after being admitted to the hospital.

Maskeliya Police has launched an investigation regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, it has been uncovered that the concrete object in question had been brought for a development purpose in a tea estate.
