Two injured in shooting at a house party in Hambegamuwa

Two people have been injured in a shooting incident reported in Hambegamuwa area on Friday night (12).

Two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle had fired several rounds of gunshots at a group of individuals who were hanging out in the garden during a house party. Reportedly, the owner of the house had thrown a party for his cousin brothers and friends.

According to the police, two people, aged 24 and 42 years, had sustained injuries in the incident and are now receiving medical attention at the Hambegamuwa and Embilipitiya hospitals.

The motive behind the shooting was not immediately clear.

Hambegamuwa Police initiated an investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.
