Additional trains in operation after New Year holidays

Special train services are in operation from this evening (April 14) for people to return to Colombo after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year holidays, the Railways Department said.

Deputy General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways N.J. Indipolage stated that accordingly, eight additional train journeys will be in operation from Badulla, Galle and Beliatta railway stations to Colombo Fort.

Meanwhile, the Department of Railways also mentioned that the office trains will be operational as per usual from April 16.

The additional trains will be operational as below;

April 14 – 03.30 p.m. – Beliatta to Colombo Fort 
April 14 – 05.20 p.m. – Badulla to Colombo Fort 

April 15 - 07.45 a.m. – Badulla to Colombo Fort
April 15 - 05.20 p.m. – Badulla to Colombo Fort
April 15 - 06.00 p.m. – Galle to Colombo Fort
April 15 - 08.10 a.m. – Beliatta to Colombo Fort
April 15 - 01.50 p.m. – Galle to Colombo Fort

April 16 - 06.15 a.m. – Galle to Colombo Fort
April 16 - 07.45 a.m. – Badulla to Colombo Fort
April 16 - 05.20 p.m. – Badulla to Colombo Fort
