17-year-old girl injured in shooting in Giritale

A 17-year-old teenage girl has been hospitalized after reportedly being shot in the neck, police said.
The shooting has taken place in Yaya 04 area of Giritale, Minneriya last night (April 14).
The girl was injured in the shooting while she was at a relative’s house with her family.
Police said that it is not yet known as to who carried out the shooting, and Minneriya Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
The teenage girl who sustained injuries during the shooting is currently receiving treatment at Polonnaruwa Hospital, according to police.
