The Meteorology Department says showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, North-western and Uva provinces and in Ampara district after 2.00 p.m.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Northern and North-central provinces during the evening or night.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places over the coastal areas from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota during the morning too, it said.

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
