Four arrested for impersonating CID officers and soliciting Rs.10M bribe

Four persons were taken into custody in Kollupitiya while impersonating Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers and demanding Rs. 10 million in cash, the Bribery Commission says.

It said the suspects were arrested at around 3.30 p.m. last evening (29)in the Kollupitiya area based on a complaint filed by a resident of Dehiwala.

They are expected to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrates Court later today (30).
