Death toll from adverse weather climbs to 12; thousands displaced

The number of casualties reported due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions across the island has climbed to 12, as of today (June 03), State Minister of Defence, Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon said.

Meanwhile, 05 persons are still reported missing due to various incidents caused by the extreme weather including floods and mudslides.

Additionally, the State Minister also mentioned that 23,707 persons from 2,313 affected families are currently in relief centres established across the island.
