Sri Lankan sprinter Aruna Darshana has qualified to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Accordingly, he will represent Sri Lanka in the Men’s 400m event.

Darshana joins the Sri Lankan athletics team for the Paris Olympics with Tharushi Karunaratne and Nadeesha Lekamge.

Aruna Darshana recently showcased his exceptional speed and skill on the track achieving an impressive second-place finish in the 400-meter event at an international athletics tournament held in the Bahamas, clocking a personal best time of 45.90 seconds.

He also managed to win the gold medal in the 400m event at the 2nd Belt and Road Invitational Athletics Championship held in China.

He was tipped by many in the circles that he could follow in the footsteps of former veteran athlete Sugath Thilakaratne. He won the men’s 400m event during the 2018 National Athletics Championships by clocking at 46.16.
