Hambantota District preferential vote results

The preferential vote results of the Hambantota District in the 2024 General Election have been released.

NPP’s Nihal Galappaththi has polled the highest number of preferential votes in the Hambantota District.

Dilip Wedaarachchi has received the highest preferential votes from the SJB and secures its only seat while SLPP’s single seat for the district was secured by former State Minister D.V. Chanaka.

National People’s Power (NPP)

1. Nihal Galappaththi - 125,983

2. Athula Hewage -73,198

3. Saliya Madarasinghe - 65,969

4. Aravinda Vitharana - 48,807

5. Prabha Senarath - 42,249

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB)

1. Dilip Wedaarachchi - 23,514

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)

1. D.V. Chanaka - 16,546
