Traffic movement affected along Duplication Road due to protest

Vehicular movement along the R. A. De Mel Mawatha (Duplication Road) has been severely affected owing to a protest, Ada Derana reporter said.

A group has been protesting opposite a school in Bambalapitiya over an incident where a schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide in Kotahena recently.

According to our reporter, parents and students of the school are taking part in the protest.

Protesters alleged that a teacher of the school abused the student which prompted the girl to commit suicide.

Accordingly, protesters are demanding justice from authorities.

Police anti-riot squad has also been deployed to the area.
