9,158 Army personnel promoted in view of 78th Independence Day

A total of 9,158 Sri Lanka Army personnel have been promoted in view of the 78th Independence Day celebrations.

Accordingly, promotions have been granted for non-commissioned officers from both the Regular and Volunteer Forces to their respective next ranks.

Under the category of Other Ranks, 260 Warrant Officers II have been promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer I, 1,211 Staff Sergeants have been promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer II, 1,704 Sergeants to the rank of Staff Sergeant, 2,339 Corporals to the rank of Sergeant, 2,204 Lance Corporals to the rank of Corporal and 1,440 Privates have been promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal from the Regular and Volunteer Forces in view of the 78th Independence Day celebrations, the Sri Lanka Army said in a statement.
