Maithripala attacked at Pelmadulla rally

A public rally attended by Common Candidate Maithripala Sirisena was attacked in the Pelmadulla area this evening.

Several persons were reportedly injured after an angry mob pelted stones at the election meeting. 

It has been reported that the attack was carried out after Presidential Candidate Sirisena finished addressing the gathering. 

A tense situation erupted following the incident while police officers intervened to disperse the groups.
