Transfer of 10,000 police officers postponed to May

The transfer of nearly 10,000 police officers scheduled for February 01 has been postponed to May 01. Police Headquarters, in a communiqué, said that the transfer orders will come into effect from May 01, 2015.

The transfer of 10,000 police officers was originally scheduled to come into effect on 1 January, 2015 however was postponed to February 01 due to the Presidential Election.

Over 5,000 transfers will involve police officers including Police Constable, Sergeants, Sub-Inspector, Inspector and Senior Inspectors who have been serving in the Northern and Eastern Provinces for over five years.
