The Financial Crimes Investigations Division is currently recording a statement from former Uva Province Chief Minister, Shasheendra Rajapaksa, over the misuse of two luxury buses belonging to the Foreign Ministry.

The two super luxury coaches that were recently left abandoned at the External Affairs Ministry car park were reportedly used by several prominent politicians during the former government for personal activities.

Several photographs had recently surfaced in the internet showing Shasheendra Rajapaksa and his family members using one of the buses for a family excursion.

These two super luxury coaches are believed to have been imported to Sri Lanka to provide transport facilities to the VIPs who participated in the CHOGM summit held in the country in 2013.

The two coaches had suddenly resurfaced at the External Affairs Ministry car park after having disappeared since the event.

These luxury coaches have been custom made as caravans with all modern facilities including a kitchen, bathroom, bed rooms, sofas, fans, ACs and refrigerators.
