“Only the people can take me away from the Prime Ministerial post,” Prime Minster Ranil Wickramasinghe has said.

The observation was made at a press conference held in Kandy.

He also pointed out the people cast their votes at the January 8 polls in a bid to make him the Prime Minster as well.

“It is up to the people to decide who to trust at the forth coming election and elect the new Prime Minster,” he added.

However, former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage on Thursday (28) affirmed that a motion of no confidence will be brought against the Prime Minister on June 9.

“Some 85 opposition MPs have already signed the motion,” he said, adding that over 100 Parliamentarians are supposed to sign it.
