Ex-Yakkalamulla PS Vice Chairman arrested

The former Vice Chairman of the Yakkalamulla Pradeshiya Sabha has been arrested on charges of molesting an underage girl, police said today.

He is accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl during election campaigning activities in the Henawatta area in Ma Gedara on Friday (Aug 14).

The arrested suspect reportedly also serves as the principal of a school in the area. 

He is scheduled to the produced before the Galle Additional Magistrate today while Yakkalamulla Police is conducting an investigation into the incident.
