Dignity of parliament eroded over last few years - Sampanthan

The dignity of the parliament has eroded over the last few years, TNA leader R. Sampanthan speaking during the maiden session of the 8th parliament said a short while ago. The TNA looks forward to fully cooperating with the new speaker, he added congratulating the newly elected speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

 

This new parliament needs to face several issues in its sittings. One of these is to formulate a new constitution to restore democracy, pluralism, equality, equity and justice. This is a fundamental need, Sampanthan.
