Maj Gen Medawela appointed military adviser to SL mission in UN

The Commander of Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) Major General Ubaya Medawela has been appointed as the Military Adviser to Sri Lanka’s mission to the United Nations in New York.

At the outset of the farewell ceremony, Major General Medawela was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, in accordance with military traditions at the SFHQ-West grounds, the Defence Ministry said.

Prior to the new appointment, Major General Medawela served as the Commander, SFHQ-West for more than one and half years and had also served as the Military Spokesman.

General Officers Commanding (GOCs) of the 14 and 58 Divisions, Brigade Commanders of the 141,142,143,581,582 and 583 Brigades, commanding officers , officers and other ranks of the SFHQ- West were present at the farewell ceremony.
