The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) at Police Headquarters has recorded a statement from the wife of UPFA Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila.

Police Spokesman Asp Ruwan Gunasekara said that she was questioned for around 4 hours yesterday (9) in connection with a complaint regarding alleged securities fraud.

However, Gammanpila says that his political activities cannot be halted through such actions.

At a recent press briefing, the MP had claimed that the police is preparing to arrest him and lock him up in jail.
