Sagala and Swaminathan take oath for new portfolios

Sagala Ratnayake has been sworn in as the Minister of Law and Order while D.M. Swaminathan was sworn in as Minister of Prison Reforms in addition to their existing ministerial portfolios.

The Ministers took oath before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat a short while ago, the Presidential Media Unit said. 

Ratnayake is the Minister of Southern Development while Swaminathan is the Minister of Rehabilitation and Resettlement.

The ministers took oath in new portfolios following the resignation of former Minister of Law and Order and Prison Reforms Tilak Marapana on Monday (9) over the Avant-Garde controversy.
