UPDATE: Railway station masters and Controllers have called off their strike after a discussion with the railway authorities, a short while ago.

Railway station masters and Controllers had commenced the strike after an engine driver had allegedly changed an engine without permission, Secretary of the Sri Lanka Station Masters’  Union of the Railway Department said.

Earlier yesterday, train engine drivers had called off their strike action which was launched against the alleged assault on an engine driver at the Ragama station as well. A group of engine drivers attached to the Electrical Power Coaches Shed (EPCS) had commenced the strike alleging that a fellow driver had been assaulted.
