Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrived at the Presidential Commission to probe large scale corruption to give a statement.

The Commission earlier summoned the former Defence Secretary for questioning regarding the alleged use of personnel attached to the Civil Security Department for campaigning activities during the last Presidential Election.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa was questioned regarding around 500 employees of Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Limited (RALL), a state-owned institution, engaging in campaigning activities in the Nugegoda, Maharagama and Kesbewa area ahead of the polls in January.

The former Defence Secretary had also given a statement on the matter on a previous occasion.
