The second stage of the January 08, 2015 conspiracy is now underway, Convener of the Jathika Emamuthuwa Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekera says.

The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (19).

Amarasekera stressed that to fulfill the needs of the western countries, the Government is about to formulate a new Constitution. “But, the western countries don’t seek a constitutional change. They want something else,” said Amarasekera.

He also said that the reasons are unknown as to why the Government is struggling hard to formulate the new Constitution in haste.

President of the National Movement to Protect Soldiers Ven. Bengamuwe Nalaka Thero, while commenting at the event, said he doubts that there is a foreign influence in formulating the new Constitution.

Expressing his views regarding the ‘Bhikkhu Kathikawatha’ dialogue presented to the Parliament, the Thero quoted the Sanaga Nayaka thero of the Tri Nikayas as saying that they are unaware about the new act.

“As I contacted Sanaga Nayaka theros, I got to know that they have not been apprised about this move,” Nalaka Thero added.
