Lady justice bent for ‘Sari’ but not for ‘Sivura’ - Wimal

January 28, 2016   06:30 pm

National Freedom Front (NFF) leader MP Wimal Weerawansa today charged that lady justice did not “bend” to the ‘Sivura’ (saffron robe) the same way she did to the ‘Sari’.

“What the people are saying is that lady justice did not bend to the ‘Sivura’ the same way she did to the ‘Sari’,” he told reporters in Colombo.

For the Sari, bail was given within 15-20 minutes on a Saturday and lady justice did the needful, he claimed in possible reference to the arrest of MP Hirunika Premachandra.

“But lady justice did not bend that way for the Sivura,” he alleged, adding that the people of the country are thinking about that difference.
