Five bodies of fishermen, who were missing since Sunday after their boat collided with a ship off the Galle coast, have been found by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN).

Navy Media Spokesperson Captain Akram Alavi stated that the bodies were found in the vicinity of the mid-sea incident during search missions carried out using navy Dvora patrol boats.

The bodies are currently being transported by boat to the Galle Harbour, he told Ada Derana.

The fishermen in question and their boat ‘Sagara Putha’ reportedly set out to sea on Sunday (January 31).
